Battle of Rati Ghati(1534)

Rao Jait Singh of Bikaner defeated Kamran Mirza, son of Babur, at Rati Ghati in 1534, recovering the capital the Mughal prince had occupied.

  • Bikaner tradition holds the fort was in Mughal hands for barely a day
  • One of the few clear Rajput field victories over a Timurid prince in this period

      Fourth Rao of Bikaner, 1526–1542. Defeated Kamran Mirza at Rati Ghati in 1534 and recovered his capital; killed fighting Rao Maldeo of Marwar at Sahiba, after which Bikaner was briefly annexed by Jodhpur.
